Two years ago, my mother and I went to Mali. We ended up back in Bamako a full day before our flight, and, both being too tired to deal with a big city, we headed out for the hills. There was a mention of petroglyphs, which we spent all day looking for. It's possible that we found them, but I'm pretty sure we found some graffiti. The people looked like this.
