I found these stainless steel markers a while ago, and have been keeping them around. They're numbered 1 through 25, and as I was working on them in my 26th year, they took on a vaguely autobiographical feel, one for each full year. I love working with steel- where copper wants to be you friend, and fawns over you, doglike, steel just wants to be itself, and if you want it to do anything, it's like training a cat. In less metaphorical terms, steel has to be worked while still glowing cherry red- a state that it only maintains for a few seconds, and then it has to be reheated to continue working.
